Sometimes we forget how our community was prior to the passage of the levy. Here are news stories of days past. These are examples of releases in the past but far from all of them. Prior to the Jail Levy, the Sheriffs’ office was forced to release violent offenders – nearly 100 offenders were released every week. Since the passage of the jail levy the Sheriff’s office has released ZERO violent felony or Measure 11 offenders pre-trial due to lack of capacity.
